Future Thinking
By Lansdowne Crescent Primary School
Virtual classrooms, curriculum changes, robot teachers and “invisible” technology are all real possibilities for education in the future. As you stand at this point on our trail, ask yourself the question, “How will we educate our young people one hundred years from now?” With technological change happening at a fast pace, will we even need schools, will we need teachers? We each have different visions of how the future will look and feel and how education will have to change to accommodate these differences. Our student team spoke to a number of people about their vision for the future and their ideas vary widely. Most people agree that schools will definitely still exist, although the way students learn will be quite different. Listen to our podcasts of an education expert, a teacher and students themselves, all trying to predict the future and understand what education will mean to a new generation of students who are yet to be born.
